![]() | WELCOME TO OUR BROCCOLI FIELD Broccoli is a great anti-cancer vegetable but unfortunately conventionally grown broccoli is often heavily sprayed to keep the grubs at bay. We are pleased to be able to present to our customers such a great looking, good tasting, healthenhancing, grub-free product!!! You'll notice in this photograph (left) that we have plenty of trees surrounding our broccoli paddocks .... home to the birds and other critters that help manage the pests. |

Storing your Broccoli |
| ON THE FARM: We try to harvest our broccoli very early in the morning while it's quite cool. After being harvested it is placed immediately into the special coldroom which quickly draws its temperature down to 2oC. Once cooled sufficiently it is then packed into polystyrene boxes with a good layer of ice packed directly on top of the broccoli, with a lid taped securely on top. The broccoli is sent in refrigerated semitrailers to market. |
| IN YOUR HOME: Refrigeration is essential. Keep broccoli in the crisper or bottom of your fridge. As with carrots it's a good idea to restrict the air flow around the broccoli. The ideal storage temp is about 2oC. If broccoli is left out of the fridge - exposed to the air and the heat it will go really soft in no time at all. We go to great lengths to cool it quickly and keep it cool to extend its shelf life for you. Keep it in the same manner and you will ensure its longevity and goodness. |
